A majority of the Red River Fly Fishers members are Texas Parks and Wildlife certified Angler Education Instructors.
We teach a number of "Learn to Fly Fish" courses each year. The classes are free and open to anyone 13 and older.
In Basic Fly Fishing courses, you will:
- learn about fly fishing equipment;
- perform the basic 4-part cast; sample aquatic insects to see what fish eat; and
- discuss stream ecology.
In Intermediate Fly Fishing, you will:
- hone your casting skills;
- tie at least 2 flies; and
- learn some specific fly fishing strategies.
